Microsoft Flight

The legend of all flight simulators is coming back with a shorter name this time. Microsoft Flight is in the making!  Microsoft Flight Simulator must have been the greatest simulator of all time, there for I will show a bit of history of this fantastic game. But let’s start off with the  newest trailer released by Microsoft :

Microsoft Flight Simulator

Flight Simulator 1

The history of Flight Simulator starts off before I was born. It was 1980 when FS1 was released for the apple 2 by a company called SubLOGIC . It was a bunch of black tiles with white lines and the dashboard of the plain was made off a few colored lines. In 1984 FS2 was released for the Commodore 64 containing some colored scenery and the possibility of using Simulator add-ons  by entering a floppy Disk.

Flight Simulator 2

Around the end of 1982 the first version of Microsoft was released called Microsoft Flight Simulator 1.0. Al do the graphics where improved, you where still looking at a grey screen till version 2.0 in 1984 which added not much except off a bit of color. FS 3.0 started out in 1988 with great graphics improvements and also additional aircraft choices. Also probably the first version I ever played myself.

Flight Simulator 2004

Flight Simulator 2004

Many releases followed (4.0, 5.0, 5,1, 6.0 for Windows 95, 6.1 for Win98) they all gained many improvements in graphics, weather control, choices of aircraft etc. But they biggest changes game with Flight Simulator 2000 (7.0). Unfortunately this game also brought the need for some high tech super computer to play around in the biggest environment so far. With some more graphics improvements in version 2002 and flightsim 2004 it finally came to the latest version in 2006 called Flight Simulator X

Flight Simulator X

Flight Simulator X also known as FSX came with another graphical boost but even better, it included multiplayer options! One of the greatest things about this game is that it is highly customable.
You could start out small by downloading  fsx planes upgrades. They can make small change to the outside, inside or the dashboard of the aircraft. Or you could choose to download some full fsx airplanes if you like.

If that would not be enough for you, you could download a complete makeover with the many available flight simulator mods.  If you are looking for a complete makeover of the in game textures  including season control I would recommend you to have a look at the fscene x addon.

For now we will have to wait for Microsoft Flight release date, in the mean time I got this little flash game for you below.
